Haiti could loose $300 Million in Aid if there is no Elections this year
Yes... There is money, $300 million, set aside for the Haitian government by the State Appropriations Act and pages 1333 and 1334 of the appropriations bill the U.S. Congress passed in January for Haiti states the following:
None of the funds appropriated by this Act may be made available for assistance for the central Government of Haiti until the Secretary of State (of the United States of America) certifies to the Committees on Appropriations (of the United States Congress) that Haiti is taking steps to hold free and fair parliamentary elections and to seat a new Haitian Parliament.
Keep in mind... Both the executive branch and Chamber of Deputies signed an electoral law this month but the Senate seems to have other plans.
What do think abou this?
