Haiti Lawmakers Reject President Martelly Second Choice for Prime Minister

It's Official, 16 Senators voted against Bernard Gousse for Prime Minister of Haiti. President Michel Martelly still has NO government.

The vote took place late Tuesday night, Aug 2 2011.

By the way...

These are the same 16 Senators who recently signed a public statement saying that they oppose Gousse for Prime minister.

Now President Martelly is left with choice BUT to send yet another candidate for rejection by a group of senators who, Reuters says, "are supporters of former President Rene Preval, and many still swear a loose allegiance to Aristide himself."

QUESTION:

Why go through all this mumbo jumbo, checking documents, wasting time, if you already know you will vote NO anyway?

What is your opinion about this political stalemate going on in Haiti.

I take time to read a lot of comments on this page. Everything makes sense in politics.

We are all Haitians and we need to understand the process.

If we have a constitution, we must follow it. I do appreciate President Martelly as well as members of our parliament.

The message was krystal clear from group 16 they won't give no vote in favor of Mr Gousse. Why President martelly was so confident telling the nation in less than a week there will be a new government.Who's telling the truth?.The president pertinently knew his choice will be rejected, may be his confusion come along to distinguish consultation with camaraderie. The legislative and executive are the result from the elections that people have voted for.Do the legislative have the right to reject the president's choice the answer is yes.Do the president really had a consultation with the legislative the answer is no.The reason why they have warned him about his choice.

Finally, the Haitian Senators are NEGATIVE at giving birth to the future of Haiti.

When you have a Majority Assembly in favor of a proposition, why few "abuse of power individuals can become decisional".

It is time to "step over" in anyway it can be done.
