Kenya led Mission to Haiti: US Embassy in Port-au-Prince and Antony Blinken respond

Will a Kenya led multinational force in Haiti bring stability and security to the country

For some time now the US and Canada have been looking for someone to take the lead in some form of peacekeeping intervention in Haiti. They surely don't want to take the blame when things go wrong. I guess they found one.

In a series of tweets, the U.S. Embassy in Haiti and Secretary Blinken both acknowledged the commendable efforts of the Government of Kenya in leading a multinational force aimed at aiding the Haitian police in their mission to restore security in Haiti.

This assistance comes at a crucial time for Haiti, a country grappling with political turmoil, gang violence and security challenges.

This is an assistance that the current government and those who support it are impatiently waiting for. Why? Nobody knows.

Andre Michel, a vocal critic of the late President Jovenel Moise and a staunch advocate for Prime Minister Ariel Henry, expressed his thoughts on Twitter.

In his statement, Andre Michel conveyed the SDP's positive reception of Kenya's decision to assume leadership of the multinational force and deploy 1000 police officers to Haiti.

The SDP further extends an invitation to fellow member nations of the United Nations, urging them to emulate Kenya's example and "follow suit to help Haiti through this difficult stage," Andre Michel said.

Haitians believe the sudden rise in gang violence in Haiti is manufactured to justify a UN intervention

Don't get me wrong but I am just pessimistic when it comes to crooked Haitian politicians and their willingness to strive for peace and prosperity for Haiti.
