Haiti: Jean Jacques Dessalines would be proud of Street Protests on October 17, Andre Michel said

According to Haitian political activist Andre Michel, a major street protest on October 17 is more geared towards the ideals of Jean Jacques Dessalines than going to Pont Rouge bringing flowers to commemorate his death.

Dessalines would be happier to see people protesting in the streets on the day of his death then the alternative, Andre Michel said.

Journalist Jean Monard Metellus who was interviewing him on radio Caraibes asked him: "If you were the president would you still agree with your way of thinking?"

Andre replied: "It would be different, it would be different. Because we are the real victims of the death of Dessalines."

In other words a president Andre Michel would be in Pont Rouge, bringing flowers like all presidents do... Smart!

What do you think about that?
