Some act like evicting tent dwellers wholesale after the quake...

Some act like evicting tent dwellers wholesale after the quake is a sure fire pit.The Mayor is pushing himself right into the furnace.

Although I believe this is a problem and it needs immediate attention; But a Mayor should not take upon himself with no prior warnings and on hear says to vacate people from under tents they have been occupying for more than a year. Does Haiti have squatters rights?

The Mayor should have had pictures, signed petitions and eyewitnesses and then go to proper legal channels for cooperation and decisions.

The Mayor should not have acted alone, as it is not part of his job description.

We are working toward CHANGE, right Mr. Martelly?

Something as political as the tent dwellers should not have left to a Mayor's decision, let alone without YOUR explicit direction.

Okay, okay, let me stop complaining.

Your Excellence, my humble suggestions would be to start working with what we have. Eliminate grandiose plans or half-baked ideas as most of them have no chance in hell of being implemented.

Why don't we concentrate on immediate priorities like cleaning up the streets and reorient people towards less populated provinces.

You know as well as I do that people will follow the food source, for instance, Red Cross and the likes ask them for their cooperation in dispersing their services in lower concentration areas.

Since they might not have discretionary funds for transportation, you might have to help them...

What about government owned-land?

If any, can some of it be at the service of the tent people?

Soon after the quake, there was an idea about land fill near Port-Au-Prince coast line with the quake debris.

That was a good simple pragmatic and doable solution.

Each and every Haitian should help at least seven (7) hours a day until the area is cleaned up. I believe food and water should be provided for them while they are working.

It is not like they are "working" for a plate of food. It is more like they are "helping" their Country in a very tangible manner.

Haitians abroad if they want to help could contribute money for tools and transportation.

After all if machettes are sold out in Haiti...money can be found for simple hand tools and platforms (like a door,3 persons in front and 3 in back) to carry debris in a team-work model.

We did have a very precious cultural heritage called "Kombit".

I wonder what ever happened to it. It probably got buried under the label of "Modernism"...

Last but not least, anybody who thinks he or she can get a new house for free in Haiti or any other country for that matter should not walk to a shrink but run to one on an emergency basis.

Anyone who is spreading such a malicious rumor should be classified as criminally insane.
