Senator Don Kato : People in power in Haiti are distributing weapons in the ghettos

Former Haitian senator Antonio Cheramy alias Don Kato claims it is those in power who are distributed weapons in the Haitian ghettos (quartier populaire) of Haiti.

Those in power are also the ones who are bringing in containers of contraband with hidden stocks of illegal weapons embedded, Senator Kato said.

According to the senator, what happened in Cape Haitian with ex president Martelly was his own partisans shooting at him "because they are the ones with all the big guns," the senator said.

In the fight against kidnapping, people need to have enough courage to point fingers at those in power and tell them to stop handing out weapons in the ghettos and to start arresting those who are selling munition, the senator said.
