9 Haitian senators are still fighting to remain in the Senate, judge's decision
On January 13th, Haitian president Jovenel Moise made a tweet declaring that two thirds of the Senate terms were expired. Nine of the senators representing the second third are still fighting to remain at the Senate.
Recently, the court of summary proceedings (tribunal des référés) declares itself incompetent to rule on the file of the nine senators whose term of office has expired.
On Thursday, February 20, some of these senators who were removed were able to enter the precincts of the Senate after being prevented by the police under the orders of the Executive, a haitian news media reported.
"We have come to serve this court decision on the office of the third of the Senate," the senators told the news media.
