MIAMI (AP) - Haitian officials are pitching the Caribbean country's investment opportunities to Haitians living in the U.S.

On Friday, officials from the Haitian government and its Center to Facilitate Investment in Haiti will hold an investment forum for the Haitian community in Miami.

Similar meetings will be held next week in Haitian communities in Orlando and Atlanta.

This week, Haiti published an amended constitution allowing Haitians living abroad to own land and run for lower levels of office in Haiti.

Haitian officials say they hope that the change allowing dual nationality will encourage more investment in Haiti, even in small infrastructure projects.

The investment center's director general says his agency is streamlining the process for registering businesses in Haiti and will have hubs in Port-au-Prince and Cap-Haitien.
