Who are the Friends of Haiti Group of Nations?

"At the request of Friends of Haiti Group of Nations, Kenya has accepted to positively consider leading a Multi-National Force to Haiti." This is what Dr Alfred N. Mutua, cabinet secretary (Minister) of foreign and diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Kenya, posted on his Twitter page on 29 July 2023.

Kenya minister Alfred Mutua says Kenya will lead Haiti mission at the request of Friends of Haiti Group of Nations

So Kenya did not volunteer to "deploy a contingent of 1,000 police officers to help train and assist Haitian police restore normalcy in the country and protect strategic installations," like minister Alfred Mutua so eloquently puts it. Kenya was asked to take the lead.

Or have they renamed the Core Group after the assassination of president Jovenel Moise?

It's been a long time since anybody mentioned the Core Group hasn't it?
