A "robust use of force." is needed to restore law and order in Haiti, says UN chief Antonio Guterres

In a report presented to the Security Council, as reported by Reuters, U.N. chief Antonio Guterres emphasizes the need for a "robust use of force." by a multinational police deployment and use of military assets is needed to restore law and order in Haiti.

Now the question is whether the prospective intervention led by Kenya would measure up to the task.

Antonio Guterres, the U.N. chief, has put forward the notion that a multinational police deployment backed by military resources is imperative for reinstating law and order in Haiti and dismantling criminal gangs.

The UN Security Council hhas Extended the Mandate of United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BUNUH), Unanimously Adopting Resolution 2692

The Security Council extended the mandate of the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH) until 15 July 2024.

It stated as MINUSTAH, then it became MINUJUSTH, then BINUH, Haiti is in worse shape then ever before. They were there, they couldn't even save our president.

Ever since 16 October 2019, The United Nations continued their mission in Haiti under the acronym BINUH (Bureau intégré des Nations Unies en Haiti in French)

More homicide reported by UN in Haiti in 2019

The United Nations has reported a 42% increase in the number of homicides that took place in Haiti in 2019.

In a report submitted by U.N. secretary general Antonio Gutierrez to the Security Council, he mentioned in sharp increase criminality in Haiti.

According to the report, kidnapping has gone up in Haiti in 2019. Robbery in homicide has also gone up.

US Ambassadors Kelly Craft and Michelle Sisson in a meeting with Haiti President Jovenel Moise trying to solve the political crisis

United States Ambassador to the United Nations Kelly Craft met with Haiti president Jovenel Moise Wednesday, Nov 20, 2019, to discuss the political situation in Haiti.

After the meeting, in a statement released by the Services of the Ambassador, Kelly Craft said:

"President Jovenel Moise and the other elected leaders have an obligation to get together, to put aside their differences and to seek an inclusive solution for the benefit of the Haitian people. The United States stands ready to bear. I leave Haiti with the expectation that they will overcome the challenges."

On Monday October 14, 2019, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres announced the appointment of Helen La Lime of the United States as his Special Representative for Haiti and Head of the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH).

Since 2018, Ms. La Lime has served as the Secretary-General's Special Representative heading the United Nations Mission for Justice Support in Haiti (MINUJUSTH).

The Opposition deliver their message to the U.N. in Haiti, Watch the VIDEO, hear what Senator Beauplan said

Members of the Anti-Jovenel Opposition inside U.N. Log Base delivering their message

Haitian Senator Evaliere Beauplan was the porte-parole of the Opposition at the U.N. Log Base (MINUJUSTH Headquarters) in Port-au-Prince Friday, October, 4th 2919, and he delivered message. Watch the video and hear what he had to say.

Besides the message by Senator Beauplan, an envelope was delivered to the the U.N. via the person inside the base the the opposition was speaking to. The content of the letter inside the envelope is not known as of yet but it is probably a request to ask the United Nations to force President Jovenel Moise to resign.

UN Mission to Haiti MINUJUSTH officially ends on October 15 2019

MINUJUSTH taking over where MINUSTAH left off

The United Nations Security Council announced it is putting an end to its Mission for Justice Support in Haiti (MINUJUSTH) as of October 15 2019.

Time for the Haitian National Police force to assume its full responsibilities.

This is according to an official statement dated April 12, 2019.

This decision follows the recommendation of Secretary General António Guterres in his latest report in on the situation in Haiti.

Haiti political opposition leader Moise Jean Charles announced he is going to speak at the Untied Nations, accompanied by a delegation which includes Texas businessman Dumarsais Simeus, to request, among other things, an investigation into the dilapidation s of the PetroCaribe money in Haiti.

According to the opposition leader, the Haitian government is opposed to him speaking at the UN but he will do it anyway.

Haiti MINUSTAH - The Brazilian Troops are finally Going Home!

MINUSTAH Soldier In Front of Haiti White House

Brazil President Michel Temer announced Monday that his Brazilian soldiers from the UN Stabilization Mission to Haiti (MINUSTAH) will begin to return home at the end of the month...

The Armed Forces "will leave Haiti from August 31 with a full sense of duty fulfilled," he said.

Haitians on the other hand will probably be singing:

Official : Haiti - MINUJUSTH mandate extended until 15 Feb 2019

MINUJUSTH taking over where MINUSTAH left off

The United Nations (UN) Security Council has decided to extend the mandate of the United Nations Mission for the Support of Justice in Haiti (MINUJUSTH) for one more year, until 15 February 2019

MINUJUSTH is the mission that replaces the old peacekeeping stabilization mission MINUSTAH after they left the country.

The Security Council made this decision Tuesday, 10 April 2018. They also plan to bring the mission to an end by 15 October 2019.

Will this happen as planned or will we hear next year that MINUJUSTH mandate will extend yet another year?
