Haiti MINUJUSTH chief Susan D. Page recalled by the UN for sticking her nose in Haitian Politics
Susan D. Page - former Head of MINUJUSTH in Haiti
This happened following a phone conversation between Haitian president Jovenel Moise and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres where the president was furious because Susan Page was stepping beyond her boundaries and into political matters.
The Haitian government was very dissatisfied with the publication of a MINUJUSTH communiqué welcoming the appointment of judges to hear complaints filed since the beginning of the year in the Petrocaribe case. The Haitian government has condemned that publication. It described as political interference.
Prime Minister Jack Guy Lafontant said: "An international organization can not think of coming to Haiti and making partisan statements because this issue is a highly, eminently political issue."
"Haiti is neither a savannah nor a mill but a sovereign country," the prime minister said in a press conference.
