The opposition leader did not reach his destination since police had already barricaded the area to prevent the protesters form reaching their destination; however, some of these protesters went around the barricades via an area called "Tèt Dlo" and did reach the president's residence where the General Security Unit of the National Palace (Unité de sécurité générale du Palais national, USGPN) stopped them.
Was the president's life and security in danger? Some say President Jovenel Moise was not home at the moment and protesters left the area.
