"We've been consistent with our message," top Lavalas leader Schiller Louidor says, "we do not recognize Jovenel as president of Haiti, therefore we will not sit down and talk with him."

Answering the question to whether or not Lavalas received an invitation from the National Palace to participate in recent talks with the political parties, Schiller Louidor, speaking on behalf of the Lavalas party made it clear that his Lavalas will not sit down with the president because he was selected and not elected.

Ever since the "selection," we said the way things happened did not respect the norms. the National Electoral Complaints and Challenges Bureau (BCEN) did not decide and, in that case, we do not recognize the powers of this man. Since then, we have been denouncing this and we have been saying that we do not recognize this man at the National Palace who claims he is president of Haiti.
