This assembly was supposed to decide on the fate of Interim president Jocelerme Privert whose 120 days term has expire; However, during a session were preparations were being made for the assembly, a shower of rocks and bricks were thrown into the premises of the Parliament from outside where a street protest was being held.
Some members of the minority group said they didn't feel safe to continue with the process today.
Senator Jean Marie Salomon said this is a real shame that this thing is happening. "We came here to make a decision that will affect the future of the country."
According to news reports, many senators and deputies have already left the building due to this climate of insecurity.
