Haitian Government Commissioner Clamé-Ocnam Daméus has decided to resign from his post Friday as head of the Parquet de Port-au-Prince, the public prosecutor's office.
Ocnam Clamé Daméus - Commissaire de Gouvernement de Port-au-Prince
Maitre Clame-Ocnam Dameus said in a letter that he refuses to be used as a tool of manipulation and perversion of justice; therefore, he decided to resign as Government Commissioner at the Port-au-Prince Court of First Instance and as a member of the Supreme Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ).
The former commissioner said he was faced with many difficulties and political pressures of all kinds that prevent him from carrying out his work "as a defender of society" and so found himself obliged to resign from his position.
