On the programme Eye on Dependency, Gonsalves said the region must take "a clear unequivocal stance" adding that as for joining the Caribbean Community (Caricom), the Dominican Republic could forget about it until they reverse the law.

He also called for booting them out of the economic partnership between Cariforum and the European Union. He accused the Dominican Republic of racism adding that "it is fully unacceptable."

Suspend them from PetroCaribe, he said adding that the controversial law is "racist in its nature."

"If you do not take measures to correct it," he said referring to the Dominican Republic, "you will be refused entry into Caricom."
