Henri Namphy was born in Cap-Haïtien, Haiti, on November 2, 1982. He died June 26, 2018 in the Dominican Republic at the age of 85.

Here is a photo of Lt. General Henri Namphy when he was a young cadet in Haiti fresh out of the academy.

After graduating from the Haitian Military Academy, Henri Namphy quickly climbed the ladder. He held, among others, the posts of vice-commander of the guard of the National Palace. Namphy was an army commander in two departments in Haiti.

In 1981, Henri Namphy became Brigadier General of the Haitian army.
