How can an escaped convict becomes member of parliament is surely an indictment to the legal system of the country?

When an individual put himself for a presidential election or a candidate for background, the police and the lawmakers are duty bound to check the social background of that individual.

As far it goes, not because he is elected as parliamentarian, he becomes immune to the law. If he had been involved in criminal activities, he is to face the consequences headlong.

He has a moral obligation to step aside, and prove his innocence in a court of law.
His colleagues may try to seek his release; however, they must first of all understand that the law is the law, and no one is above the law.
