Jean-Claude Duvalier Was Charged with Corruption, Theft, Misappropriation of Funds

According Chief Prosecutor Aristidas Auguste, the former former dictator Jean-Claude Duvalier known as "Baby Doc" was charged with corruption, theft, misappropriation of funds and other crimes.

"His fate is now in the hands of the investigating judge.

We have brought charges against him," He said.

During Duvalier's 15 years in power, billions in foreign aid went missing and his secret police - the dreaded Tonton Macoutes - kidnapped, tortured and murdered thousands of political opponents.
