Jean-Henry Ceant

Jean Henry Ceant is the 21st Prime Minister of Haiti. Ceant was chosen by President Jovenel Moise to become Prime Minister of Haiti in August 2018. he was ratified by parliament mid September.

Believe it or not, there was a big commotion in Haiti at the Prime Minister's office Wednesday, 08 May 2019, after the personal assistant of former PM Henry Ceant mysteriously showed up to pick up some items including a couch that the ex prime minister left behind.

After noticing Girovna Brice, former personal secretary of the former prime minister Jean Henry Ceant, in the private quarters of the newly appointed Prime Minister Jean Michel Lapin attempting to leave with the sofa and a safe, PM Lapin had no choice but to call Parquet de Port-au-Prince to come shed light on the case, Vant Bef Info reported.

Par arrêté présidentiel, Haiti's communication minister Jean Michel Lapin is officially the new Interim Prime Minister of Haiti replacing Jean Henry Ceant who still believes he is the prime minister of Haiti.

The Haitian Senate is becoming a subject of ridicule after its president Carl Murat Cantave instists on bringing in an ex prime minister for an interpellation session.

93 deputes voted to fire Jean Henry Ceant as Prime Minister of Haiti but many senators including the senate president refuse to accept that Ceant is now the former prime minister of Haiti.

Following a bone-crushing vote to eject Jean Henry Ceant from his prime minister's seat, the former PM tells Haitian newspaper Le Nouvelliste: "I am a still a Prime Minister in office."

"I do not have any current affairs to wind up (liquider les affaires courantes) because I am not a fallen Prime Minister." Henry Ceant said.

"There are Deputes who have decided to do something illegal and unconstitutional and that goes against principles, republican traditions and parliamentary traditions," he said.

Two days before the interpellation of Haitian prime minister by the senate, 70 deputies decide to "interpeller" PM Ceant Monday, March 18 2019.

According to the letter addressed to the president of the lower house, these deputes decided to call the head of the government for Non-compliance with its General Policy, The social, economic and political situation in Haiti has worsened, due in particular to the depreciation of the Haitian currency.

Hunger and misery in the most vulnerable segments of the population have become widespread, the letter said.

A tired looking Prime Minister Jean Henry Ceant - Haiti National Assembly

A session of interpellation of Prime Minister Jean Henry Ceant is scheduled for Wednesday, March 20, 2019 in the Senate of the Republic, according to a tweet from Senate president Carl Murat Cantave.

A letter was sent to the Haitian Prime Minister on March 13, 2019 alerting him of this interpellation, the tweet said.

9 Senators decided to call on PM Ceant for this inquiry (interpellation): Youri Latortue, Jean-Marie Salomon, Jacques Sauveur Jean, Nenel Cassy, Ricard Pierre, Antonio Cheramy (Don Kato), Evaliere Beauplan, Ronald Lareche and Jean Renel Sénatus.
