President apologized for not providing Haiti with 24-hour electricity in time
Haitian president Jovenel Moise apologized to the people of Haiti for not providing electricity 24/7 within the time frame he promised.
"I promised to give you electricity 24 hours a day. I could not do it within the time limit, I apologize to you," President Jovenel said in his speech on January 1st, 2020, commemorating Haitian independence say
"I had misjudged the forces involved. These forces are very powerful and take all kinds of forms to maintain this system. They control the main institutions in the country in order to defend their privileges and interests," the president said.
"Nou tout wè a klè nan ki nich koulèv mwen foure menm, l lèm deside angajem nan yon seri de refòm andedan peyi a" (all of you can see the snake pit I put myself as soon as I decided to engage in a series of reforms in this country), he added.
