Haiti Says YES to Dual Citizenship BUT... BIG BUT...
Under the new Constitution of Haiti (2012), Currently in force, dual citizenship has been relegalized, That means Haitians living (Diaspora yo) abroad is now allowdd to run for Haitian political office in Haiti
BUT.... EXCEPT... Eksepte... Exception...
Diaspora Haitians Are NOT allowed to run for the offices of:
1 - President of the Republic of Haiti
2 - Prime Minister of Haiti
3 - Senator of the Republic
4 - Depute of the Republic of Haiti (members of the lower house of Parliament)
Nope... These seats are reseved for True Haitians... Those who receive remitances... not the ones who send them! LOL...
