Fanmi Lavalas says the CEP is Organizing a SELECTION not an ELECTION

There are those who oppose the final list of approved candidates in the upcoming Haiti presidential elections. Many are calling it a SELECTION and not an ELECTION.

Will the next Haitian president be hand picked or will he/she chosen from a select group?

According to an article in French by Radio Metrople, Maryse Narcisse, a representative of Fanmi Lavalas in Haiti says that the published list of candidates clearly shows that the CEP, Haiti's electoral council, is preparing to hold a SELECTION.

According to Mrs. Narcisse, The CEP is trying to make this a "RESIDENCE" issue dismissing everyone who did meet the five years of residence requirement but they accepted candidates who are handing public funds and who have not been legally discharged.

This is one of the requirements according to article 135f of the Haitian constitution.

What is your opinion about all of this?
