Wyclef Jean Creole Message About CEP Decision - English version

Girls, boys, my brothers and sisters, the Haitian people. I want to say thank you for your support which you made me watch and so far, you continue to support me. I will continue to sacrifice the rest of my life in the struggle of the Haitian people.

Before you even get into the electoral race, friends of Haiti and abroad warned me that there would be political maneuvering to put me away. Result? The Provisional Electoral Council has proven that they have violated the Constitution for the benefit of their mistresses and their friends leading a life of luxury with the people’s money. I do not think it’s our choice to live in such a state, in such a condition.

Do you intend to continue supporting people who have no respect for Haiti’s Constitution? Do you continue to support people violating the right of the person who does not believe in the value of mankind, that every man is a man, and everybody has to live decently?

I do not believe! And I do not think!

I will continue to work for you; I will continue to fight for you, to not live in tents, to get food, to get a job, to get education, to get health, to get peace and to get investment in the country.

Remember that you hold your destiny.

Holding mobilization to respect your right, I will continue to wave the Haitian flag even higher.

Be firm! The work has just started.

Wyclef Jean
