He is Haitian.

He began going to Haiti when he was 18 years old, by himself.

He fell in love with the people and the desire to make Haiti a wonderful place.

He's been married to a Haitian woman and has two boys, one of which was born in PAP. He has worked as a Fixer for journalists in Haiti and was working with a photo journalist covering the demonstration when he was detained.

He doesn't/did not need training.

He was doing his job
