Jean Pierre, What Elizabeth Moon is talking about is nothing new. These "Scientists" are merely talking about the possibilities within the realms of technology.

The "Barcode" idea is just an escalation from DNA, blood sampling, fingerprints, eye,(through the iris) teeth, hair samplings, social security number, birth certificate in an attempt to identify an individual hopefully for medical or legal issues.

The idea is somewhat evasive of our privacy, but with technology privacy is almost non-existent.

We have reached a point of no return with the use of technology.

The good old simple life is gone with the wind. We can do enormous good with it and we can also extinct ourselves in the process...

Government is looking at us differently.

Government from any country sees its citizens as just "goods" like any other commodity to trade or discard of. Some countries are better at masking their games than others...

No, I don't think you are a substance-abuser person but rather a religious one. Personally, I don't do religion.

I may be spiritual but don't practice any religion.

Being religious is a personal choice, it is neither good nor bad.
What I am against and is extremely dangerous is to mix religion with government.

These are two different entities with different approaches to life and its related issues.
