Jean Pierre, It has been more than three decades that the United States and Europe are involved and know very much about child labor and the sugarcane plantations in DR. In fact those countries are partners.

As usual it is not that these countries are "evil" but they seem to think first and foremost of their net profits first and some kind of moral retribution second in the form of foreign aid.
Personally, I don't turn a blind eye as I consume nothing with sugar in it. If sugar is truly needed for consumption, honey is a good substitute and a healthier one at that.
