Haiti - Politic: The Presidency categorically rejects the allegations of corruption
02/04/2012 18:37:24

The Presidency of the Republic categorically rejects the allegations according to which the President Michel Martelly, have been involved in case of corruption involving firms or individuals from the Dominican Republic.

It unreservedly condemns the fanciful accusations brought unjustly against the Head of State as part of the diffusion of reportage of the Dominican journalist Nuria Piera, Saturday, March 31, 2012. This lynching by the media of President of the Republic is part of a larger campaign of intoxication of the public opinion aimed to tarnish the image of President Martelly and undermine its integrity.

The Presidency is convinced in addition that this attack, conducted against the person of the Head of State, participates in a process tending to obstruct the policy of change and of modernization of the State that the President of the Republic begins to establish in Haiti.
