Interpellation of Haiti Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe to the Lower House of Parliament
This interpellation, according to spanish web site is over the use of 5,000 million gourdes (U.S. $ 116.2 million) disbursed after Hurricane "Sandy" in October 2012.
Haiti news site Haiti Libre says the main reason for the interpellation is "to explain on the absence of disbursement to certain municipalities, of fund of ten million gourdes allocated to municipalities in the Finance Act 2012-2013."
Deputy Patrick Joseph, one of the promoters of the initiative, told local media: "We decided to impeach the head of the Ministry of Planning, not the prime minister."
SO... on September 4, 2013, Minister of Planification Laurent Lamothe will have to show up at the "Chambre des Deputes" in Port-au-Prince Haiti to answer questions about government spending.
