PNH Introcudes New Haiti Community Police Unit
What is this new Haiti "Community Policing Unit"?
Here is what I read from a Press release from the website of the US Embassy in Port-au-Prince:
To bring the Haitian National Police (HNP) closer to the people it serves and restore confidence among the general population, the HNP created a "Community Policing unit."
Since April 15, these future members of the "Community Policing unit" are attending a training session lead by both HNP instructors and New York Police Department (NYPD) Haitian-American instructors, which includes courses on Ethics, Disciplinary Regulations, Community Policing, Human Rights, Rural Law, Oral and media communications; Stenography, Stress Management, Shooting techniques, and Defensive driving tactics.
These officers which for the most part hail from the HNP's 23rd promotion, and were recruited in 2012, underwent intellectual and physiological tests, with only 40 out of 150 applicants selected to be part of this new community policing unit.
The goal of community policing is to work closely with the people in their communities to build trust with the HNP. In turn, closer cooperation between the people and the HNP leads to improved information sharing, better redress for grievances and complaints, leading to speedier follow-up and corrective actions.

my brother and sister I know you are not stupid the way white people think,
white people are stupid when they don't serve the Lord who is only God in heaven.
You may know that, black people are stupid only when they don't serve God in heaven and serve Satan and the bad angels.
More police presence is needed in Port-au-Prince to discourage the bad guys. This is a good step in the right direction.
I hope they keep adding more
I like the idea of having our Haitian officers go through rigorous training to maintain composure in the face of adversity.
From what i remember as a child it would be a vast improvement for our law makers to abide by the law as well. Lead by
