I agree that there are much french speaking people in Santo

With regard to Dominicans Have More French Speakers Than Haiti, I agree that there are much french speaking people in Santo Domingo nowadays.

Yes i said nowadays because this is a new trend.

One of the main reason most people are ignoring to mention, is because of the insecurities in Haiti in the past 10 years, we have seen a steady emigration of educated haitians into Santo Domingo.

Most of them from rich families and some from the middle class of Haiti who can afford it. They chose to send their children to Santo Domingo to continue their study.

Because it is safer, more affordable and closer to Haiti.

More over most of these haitians are very smart and educated so they are able to learn the spanish language with ease plus the majority are light skins therefore they are more welcome and are easily assimilated in the Dominican society.

Creole will be the only official language of Haiti while Martinique, Guadeloupe, St. Lucia, Dominica, French Guyana and saint martin speak French...

Marjory, French is the only official language in those countries and Creole has a second language status. They do not have two official languages...
