What if President Trump causes oil prices to go up in the world, what does that mean for Haiti?

I just read a disturbing article about how US president Trump is about to send world oil prices soaring even higher... First thing that comes to my mind is: What does that mean for Haiti?

I don't know if you are aware but the Trump administration imposed an embargo on both Iran and on Venezuela back in May 2018 and that has already set the oil market on the edge.

We all know what happened last time in Haiti when the government tried to raise gas prices. Now I read this article saying that with Trump's help, crude oil prices could jump from just above $70/barrel to $250/barrel.

What is Trump doing these days to push the price of oil to the sky?

In Haiti, we don't make gasoline an diesel, we only consume it. To hear that there is a possibility for oil prices to go up even more is disturbing.

Imagine President Jovenel Moise and whatever new government he comes up with telling the people of Haiti they have to raise furl prices again.

What do you think about that?
