The name Haiti's next Prime Minister will be known by the end of the week, President Jovenel Moise said
"It's been 3 weeks since consultations began for the next prime minister," a journalist told the president, "where are we now?"
"Negotiations cannot continue forever," President Jovenel Moise said during responding to journalists during a visit at the Haitian police (PNH) Headquarters. "We are in a very critical moment in time. School is opening soon, Christmas is around the corner, there are some big decisions to be made and for that Haiti needs a government."
President Jovenel said he has some final consultations to make including meeting a peasant organization and then, "the suspense will be over," he said, "by the end of the week the people will know the name of the next prime minister."
This will not be the end, however. "we will go to the next phase," President Jovenel Moise said, "negotiations with parliament" to get the prime minister ratified. And after that, "the formation of the government."
"Choosing a prime minister is never easy," the president said. "The prime minister has to be someone who can sit down with everyone. The prime minister, once nominated, cannot instill fear in one group while making another group happy."
President Jovenel ended saying he working very hard chose the right man for the job as head of the government.
