Haiti Elections - Mirlande Manigat is OUT of the Presidential Race

Haiti Elections Update -- Former first lady Mirlande Manigat has just announced that she is is calling it quits... She threw in the towel... Mirlande Manigat will NOT be a candidate in the upcoming Haiti Presidential Elections... Did Manigat get the boot from MOPOD of did she decide on her own to quit???

Here is what MOPOD Member Mirlande Manigat said in a note to the Haitian Media dated 06 May 2015:

"I am forced with regret to inform you that with the approval of the National Executive Committee of the party, I am withdrawing my candidacy for the presidency."

"The various statements, discussions, and news of recent days made it very clear what I had already said, written and published a few weeks ago. That the elections as they are programmed, announced, set in an impossible timetable, points to a rigged vote that will NOT respect democratic principles."
