Although the ex depute had a warrant for his arrest and was caught with many illegal high caliber firearms and lots of ammunition including grenades, Senator Youri said Arnel is an opposition leader who stands against President Jovenel and he is being persecuted for that.

To Senator Youri, the fact that only Arnel Belizaire is arrested and not others with who also have illegal weapons and who support "Le pouvoir en place" (those presently in power) it is a clear sign that Arnel Belizaire is being persecuted for standing against the president.

"People from the palace are bringing illegal weapons to hold massacres in the popular neighborhood and nothing is being done about that," Senator Youri declared.
