Former Presidents Bill Clinton (USA) and Jean Bertrand Aristide (Haiti)

I was reading an article in the New York Times following the second anniversary of the assassination of President Jovenel Moise and, in the article, the reporter made reference to a new opportunity that presents whereby the relationship between the US and Haiti can be reset.

Can it really be reset?

Will the United States ever overlook the fact that Haiti is a black republic?

I hate to admit it but he hasn't been that long since people, US citizens were protesting in the streets of America screaming black lives matter.

Dominican president Luis Abinader throwing a tantrum after a comment by Haiti foreign minister Claude Joseph

Dominican president Luis Abinader has decided to suspend the visa renewal program for Haitian students on Dominican territory to show how mad he is about a tweet from Haiti foreign minister Claude Joseph.

Just because Haitian foreign minister Claude Joseph reminded president Abinader that there are crimes happening in Dominican Republic just as they are crimes happening in Haiti, the Dominican president took it out on the poor Haitian students.

"What is being said is that there will be no automatic renewal and that must be verified because I have to protect this country," the president said at a press conference.

Claude Joseph did nothing wrong, the Dominican Republic is just better at hiding their criminal side than we are

The Tweet by Haiti Ministre Claude Joseph that pissed off the Dominican Republic

Haiti is in reality TV mode, all our problems are right out front for everyone to see. Can we compare ourselves to the Dominican Republic who is promoting tourism and hiding the fact that their country is infested with crime and corruption?

The Dominican Republic is in the process of nation-building.

Haiti, unfortunately, is in self-destruct mode.

That being said, anyone who's lived in the Dominican Republic knows that they are a lot of criminal activities happening on the other side of the island. The Dominican Republic's governing body does a great job at keeping the news local instead of on international news pages of the Washington Post and the New York Times like Haiti is doing so well right now.
