I read on Le Nouvelliste that Haitian senator Pierre Francky Exius complained that President Martelly did it all wrong... His Arreté Présidentiel named the two new members of CEP but he should have named all the members...

Haiti Elections 2014 - Haiti's Judicial Council (CSPJ) elects Yolette Mengual to be its 3rd representative at the Electoral Council (CEP)... Yolette Mengual will replace Marie Carole Floréal Dupervil at the CEP...

Already people are saying Yolette is a "réputée proche du pouvoir," something that is synonymous with "I don't want her" in Haiti... Let's wait and see the objections, Your Honor!'

According to news reports coming from Haiti, it was a it was a tie vote 4-4 at CSPJ and president Arnel Alexis make the tie-breaker decision in favor of Yolette Mengual.

Haiti's electoral council (CEP) has announced that it will extend the registration process for potential candidates and political parties to participate in the upcoming Haiti elections until 12 July 2014 in order to allow more candidates to participate and allow more political parties to register...

Recently one of the political leaders in Haiti complained that the CEP did not give enough time for people to register... I guess they listened... LOL...

Keep in mind that the elections are scheduled for the end of the year. While Haiti's executive branch is trying to make it happen, some senators and other branches of government seem to be creating roadblocks to prevent it from happening.

The Senate of the Republic of Haiti has finally confirmed Néhémie Joseph to represent Parliament in the new provisoinal electoral council (CEP)... So I guess that means Leopold Berlanger can finally get to work and the CEP will be at full speed with nine (9) members... I guess... Right?

Haiti Senate president Desras Simon Dieuseul openly criticizes the current Haiti Electoral Council (CEP) saying that they are not credible, they cannot be trusted... Deras feels that the new CEP has no legal basis and is not the result of a consensus...

Senator Deras says only Nehemie Joseph (who the Senate still has not decided on) and Leopold Berlanger (who chose not to swear in) enjoy the confidence of the political actors...
