Funeral of former Haiti President Boniface Alexandre held at the Cour de Cassation in Haiti

On August 14, 2023, a solemn ceremony marked the funeral of the former Provisional President of the Republic, Boniface Alexandre, at the Cour de Cassation in Haiti.

The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Prime Minister Ariel Henry. This final farewell served as a tribute to the late statesman, who had also held the position of President of the Cour de Cassation.

In his poignant tribute, Prime Minister Ariel Henry remarked, "President Boniface Alexandre was the epitome of Vir Bonus, a true man of goodness who respects the law and enjoys a good reputation. He belongs to the class of men from a certain era, which unfortunately we find less and less in our society."

Among the distinguished individuals in attendance was Mirlande Manigat, a former First Lady, Senator, constitutional law professor, and candidate in the 2010 Haitian presidential election. She joined the gathering to pay her respects to the late President Boniface Alexandre.

Amidst the commemorative atmosphere, it's worth noting the diverse reactions from Haitians on social media regarding the departed leader.

While some expressed fond memories and gratitude for his service, others weren't as complimentary.
