Boniface Alexandre

On August 14, 2023, a solemn ceremony marked the funeral of the former Provisional President of the Republic, Boniface Alexandre, at the Cour de Cassation in Haiti.

The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Prime Minister Ariel Henry. This final farewell served as a tribute to the late statesman, who had also held the position of President of the Cour de Cassation.

In his poignant tribute, Prime Minister Ariel Henry remarked, "President Boniface Alexandre was the epitome of Vir Bonus, a true man of goodness who respects the law and enjoys a good reputation. He belongs to the class of men from a certain era, which unfortunately we find less and less in our society."

Trained as a lawyer, Boniface Alexandre had a distinguished legal career, spending 25 years at a law firm in Port-au-Prince. His expertise and dedication to the field eventually led to his appointment to the Supreme Court in 1992, where he served as a key figure within the Haitian judicial system.
