Did Haitian Senators violates the principle of separation of powers?
According to Haiti Libre, in a note dated Octobe 24, 2013, CSPJ president Arnel Alexis Joseph strongly protest against "the intrusion of parliamentarians in the prosecution of the Court of First Instance of Port-au-Prince to remove an defendant [André Michel], which should be questioned according to the law... This behavior violates the principle of separation of powers..."
According to the note, each power is independent of the other two, according the the constitution, and even if the arrest was deem illegal, a demonstration of force by senators is not the right action to take.
Arnel Alexis wants the senate to return the defendant [Andre Michel] to justice to avoid that an arrest warrant is issued against him...
