Haiti - Anti-Martelly Attorney Andre Michel and Josue Merilien Detained in Mirebalais
Proffesor Josue Merilien, one of the leaders of Union Nationale des normaliens Haïtiens (UNNOH) was driving a vehicle, a Nissan X-Terra, with attorney Andre Michel as a passenger when they went through a police check point in Mirebalais. Josue Merilien was asked for the documents for the vehicle (Insurance and Registration) and he could not provide those documents. The vehicle was subsequently taken by the police.
A Haitian radio news reporter said that Andre Michel and Josue Merilien were at the police station for a few hours but there were free to go but could not leave with the vehicle.
The two men left the vehicle and continued to Hinche for a meeting Josue Merilien had to go on...
