Haiti after Jovenel: Opposition installs new Commission of Facilitation of Transfer of Power

Power is so close, the opposition can smell it! In a press conference Tuesday, the opposition in Haiti announced their new commission baptized "commission de facilitation de passation de pouvoir" (the Commission of Facilitation of Transfer of Power) whose main task will be to ensure the organized departure of president Jovenel Moise from power.

Installation of this new nine-member structured commission concocted by the opposition against President Jovenel Moise grouped under the nam "Alternative Consensuelle pour la Refondation de l'Etat" (the Alternative Consensual for the Refoundation of the State) is this Wednesday, October 02, 2019.

Here are the 7 known members of this new commission; 2 members are yet to be announced:

Gervais Charles
Himmler Rebu
Hugue Célestin
Antoine Augustin
Michel Legros
Jean André Victor
Garry Victor

One other member from the human rights sector and one woman will complete the commission, according to news reports.

One journalist described this commission as a show of force bu to opposition since Jovenel is still in power asking for dialoque.

"The Alternative Consensual for the Refoundation of the State say they no longer recognize Jovenel Moise as president. So they are installing this commission in front of him which will manage the transition."
