Haiti's Government needs to do some serious spending cuts, and fast...

While Haitian president Jovenel Moise is on a search for Haiti's next prime minister, the State of Haiti (l'Etat Haitien) has some serious issues to consider. One problem in particular is the level of spending happening inside government. State officials are living lavish lifestyles at the expense of taxpayers while the people are barely surviving and the people take notice.

When the Haitian government suck the people dry

Did you know: 60 to 70 taxpayer's money collected is used by the State just to function?

One of the Hot Topics in Haiti being discussed right now is regarding the kind of budget that the government is running on. It has to be rethought and redone.

Many people argue that, out of the current Haitian government budget, up to 70% of it is to pay government employees and for the daily operations of the State (l'Etat). The lucrative fees some government officials benefit from on a monthly basis is way more than a school teacher earns in one year .

Take away 70 percent from the country's budget, hat of course leaves almost nothing in the budget to actually go back to the people of Haiti in terms of service (schools, hospitals, sanitaion, social services, etc...)

Some community leaders being interviewed on radio recently have said that the government need to do some serious cutting back on all the excess spendings they have and the lavish lifestyles of the senior officers of the State.

Otherwise, what happened in Haiti during the gas price hike riots is only the begining of what's to come. The level of inequality in Haiti, the people just cannot accept it any longer.
