Haiti - Senior US Official Fears the Worse in a Government of Transition after Martelly

Former US Ambassador to Haiti Kenneth Merten says it is very likely that a transitional government take over Haiti after Martelly... "Realistically speaking," Merten told Reuters, "We may be looking at some sort of temporary solution until there is a handover to a new elected president."

KREYOL: Men Nouvel... Haiti - USA Kenneth Merten di wi, Haiti pwal oblije gen yon "Solution Temporaire" (gouvenman transition) en atandan yon nouvo president ELU pran pouvwa... Sa ki inkyete misye, solution saa yon ti jan DANJERE... Eske ou konprann??? Kisa ou panse de sa???

With all the politicians in Haiti so hungry for power, Kenneth Merten fears the worse:

"Our fear," Merten said "is that we go into a situation that is open ended. In our analysis that is a dangerous place to go."

"We are watching it very carefully, we are very concerned, we hope that dialogue between the candidates, the president and the president of the Senate and others can come to a solution," Merten said.

Kenneth Merten is currently the special Coordinator for Haiti at the State Department.

What do you think about that?
