"Haiti is a country very difficult country," Nord-Ouest Senator Kedlaire Augustin said. "Every time you start something, people come up against you, not only to disagree with what you are doing, but they stand in your way so that you do not get the job done.

They are afraid if you get the job done, you will there [in power] forever, Senator Kedlaire continues during a visit in Gros Morne with president Jovenel Moise mid August 2017.

"We are not here to be here forever," he said, "but we are a generation that understands that today that we have the chance to reach a position of power, we have to be of service to the population. We also want the population to understand that there is a new type of leadership in country."
