Haiti: President Jovenel Moise wins the heart of 100-year-old Educator Odette Roy Fombrun, read her letter here, in English...

"I have met many presidents, I have to say, this is the first time I talked to a president and I am satisfied," 100-year-old writer and educator Odette Roy Fombrun said about President Jovenel Moise after a meeting they had. "He knows his stuff, he understands the problems of the people, he is clear and precise about everything."

Odette Roy Fombrun criticized the president a week ago. So president Jovenel decided to go over to her residence to pay her a visit, to meet and talk with her.

Satisfied? Oh yes... she was more than satisfied...

YES, YES, President Jovenel came to my home Tuesday morning. You all know I criticized him and asked him to do dialogue.

The visit was long because it was very exciting. We have brainstorming about most of the country's problems and possible solutions. I told him where I agree with him and where I disagree.

Some people will not be happy to hear what I am about to say but I must say it loudly because it is the truth.

I have met many presidents, I have to say, this is the first time I talked to a president and I am satisfied. He knows his stuff, he understands the problems of the people, he is clear and precise about everything.

I have come to understand that his programs are not similar to the programs of long ago. They are special like the KARAVAN which is a big 'konbit" of his government and local populations to solve some of the problems at home, increase national production and promote development. What is missing is good explanation, transparency, and communication.

I really hope he succeeds as its projects are good for the country and good for the national majority.

He is not politician. If he was, he would've taken advantage of the BUDGET issue to deal with other political issues such as Justice. He says that the budget is loaded with programs but most people do not understand that. And he will come back to make sure everyone understands what it really is all about so that it makes good sense.

I congratulate him on mobilizing for the reconstruction of the National Palace and I encourage him to mobilize as well to put Port-au-Prince back on its feet and the Bicentennial Boulevard (Bicentenaire) as well. But most especially, HE MUST PROMOTE THE EXPLORATION OF ALL THE RICHES ALL OVER HAITI, SO HAITI CAN RISE UP AND TAKE ITS PROPER PLACE.
