Haiti is in a rare position of strength as China and Taiwan engage in a global tug-of-war over diplomatic allegiances, a Mimai Herald article says.

Former Haiti finance and commerce minister Wilson Laleau says:

"Taiwan is a longtime friend... [but] Haiti is looking for where its interests lie,"

Starting April 16th, Haitians will need a visa to enter Chile

Starting April 16th 2018, All Haitians traveling to Chile will require a tourist visa and can stay in Chile for a duration of 30 days without migratory possibilities.

The holder of this simple consular visa will not be able to work or carry out any lucrative activities in Chile.

The Queen of Spain is coming to Haiti

Letizia Ortiz, the Queen of Spain will visit Haiti next week for a two day visit, 23 & 23 May 2018.

During her stay in Haiti, Queen Letizia will have a very busy agenda, according to a press note from the office of Haiti first Lady Martine Moise.

Among other things, The Queen of Spain will meet Haitian president Jovenel Moise and First Lady Martine Moise at a luncheon organized by their Excellencies, in her honor, at the National Palace.

Haitian president Jovenel Moise plans to meet with members of the Haitian Diaspora in Florida Sunday, 14 Apr 2017.

This planned meeting will happen while President Jovenel is returning back from his participation in the Eighth Summit of the Americas in Peru.

The president will leave Florida on Monday to return to Haiti completing his official voyage.

Every freaking activity that the Haitian government is doing they invite the "Corps Diplomatique."

Haiti Government moving towards better management of Foreign Aid

The government of Haiti has just agreed to become more efficient in the management of foreign aid money in the framework of partnership with financial partners such as the IDB (BID in French), the European Union and the World Bank.

According to AHP (Agence Haïtienne de Presse), Aviol Fleurant, the Minister of Planning and External Cooperation, welcomes the idea.
