The Dominican Republic is not playing with Haiti in matters of border security

While the Haitian government is trying to build back their military, the Dominican Ministry of Defense is taking total control of their side of the border with Haiti.

Here's a photograph of Dominican soldiers standing atop a mountain on the Haiti-Dominican border securing keeping their side safe.

Lately, the Dominican Republic has been expanding their control and surveillance points all along their border with Haiti.

Their new border security consists of a series of integrated border management bases that sits right next to their perimeter fence that sits right on the border, Haiti on one side, the Dominican Republic on the other.

Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale is expected in Port-au-Prince Haiti Friday, December 6, 2019 to meet with political leaders and discuss the pressing challenges facing Haiti.

David Hale will meet President Jovenel Moise, Foreign Minister Bocchit Edmond, and other political leaders, according to a note from the US Embassy in Port-au-Prince.

Together, they will discuss the pressing challenges facing Haiti and the need for an inclusive national dialogue and a functioning government capable of restoring order, maintaining rule-of-law, expanding the economy, and serving the Haitian people.

Opposition lawyer Andre Michel says it loud and clear: The U.S. Embassy in Port-U-Prince is the only barricade in the way of the opposition getting rid of President Jovenel.

"Only one barricade prevents the opposition from getting rid of Jovenel Moise, this barricade is called the US Embassy," Andre Michel said.

We are a country, we have dignity. It is time for them to stop sinking their teeth (foure dan yo) into Haitian Politics, the opposition attorney said.

New Delegation coming from the United States to attempt to solve Haiti Political Crisis

A delegation led by American diplomat Kelly Dawn Knight Craft, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, is coming to Haiti to help solve the ongoing political crisis, a journalist revealed.

This delegation will arrive in Haiti on Wednesday, November 20, 2019.

Garry Pierre Paul Charles, Journalist at Radio Scoop FM Haiti revealed Kelly Craft and his delegation will met with various actors in the opposition behind closed doors.

Opposition senators Youri Latortue and Evallière Beauplan are among the list of people expected at these meetings.

United States Ambassador to the United Nations Kelly Craft met with Haiti president Jovenel Moise Wednesday, Nov 20, 2019, to discuss the political situation in Haiti.

After the meeting, in a statement released by the Services of the Ambassador, Kelly Craft said:

"President Jovenel Moise and the other elected leaders have an obligation to get together, to put aside their differences and to seek an inclusive solution for the benefit of the Haitian people. The United States stands ready to bear. I leave Haiti with the expectation that they will overcome the challenges."

Since 2018, Ms. La Lime has served as the Secretary-General's Special Representative heading the United Nations Mission for Justice Support in Haiti (MINUJUSTH).

"My country has been confronting, for the last few months, a very complex political crisis compounded by decades-old economic precariousness," Brocchit said.

At the invitation of Haitian President Jovenel Moïse, the President of Taiwan (Republic of China) Tsai Ing-Wen made an official to Haiti on Saturday, July 13, 2019, accompanied by a large delegation.

According to news reports, this visit allowed both presidents to define the best strategies to consolidate Haitian-Taiwanese cooperation. Issues related to energy, the economy, water management and agriculture, among others, were discussed by Haitian President Jovenel Moïse, Taiwan President Tsai Ing-Wen and the Taiwanese delegation.

This visit follows a visit by President Jovenel Moise to Taiwan back in May 2018.

Haitian president Jovenel Moise is flying to Florida to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump Friday, 22 March 2019, at Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, the White House announced.

Besides Haitian president Jovenel Moise, Trump will gather with the leaders of the Bahamas, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Saint Lucia on Friday to reaffirm the White House's "strong friendship with and commitment to these countries, and signal the importance of the Caribbean to the hemisphere," the White House said in a statement.

Not a bad idea, Mr. President... I mean, China is making a pretty darn good offer these days and, like a famous Haitian dictator once said, "la reconnaissance est une lacheté," if it doesn't convert to continues progress for Haiti. (OK, I added the second part!)
