Jamaica is prepared to deploy 200 security personnel to Haiti multinational force, Prime Minister said

As part of a broader multinational force, Jamaica is prepared to deploy 200 security personnel to aid in addressing the ongoing security and humanitarian crisis in Haiti. Jamaica's Prime Minister, Andrew Holness, made the announcement Friday.

This move comes in solidarity with other nations, including Kenya and The Bahamas, which have also pledged their support to the cause.

Kenya, taking a leadership role, has announced its readiness to send 1000 police officers to assist Haitian law enforcement.

The Bahamas, too, has affirmed its commitment by committing 150 individuals to the multinational force, pending authorization by the United Nations Security Council.
