MINUSTAH - United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti

MINUSTAH (United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti) arrived in Haiti in June 2004. The mission was established by the UN Security Council to provide support for stability, security, and governance in the country during a period of political turmoil and transition, following the departure of President Jean-Bertrand Aristide.

MINUJUSTH, the United Nations Mission for the Support of Justice in Haiti officially took over on Sunday 15 October, after MINUSTAH, the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti ended their 13 years mission in Haiti.
